Rose Pedal Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Rose Pedal Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 10 oz of fresh rose petals (roughly 2 quarts)
  • 1 pound raisins (chopped well)
  • 2.6 pounds of honey
  • 1/2 cup of lemon juice and zest
  • 1/4 tsp yeast nutrient
  • 1/2 cup of sliced cherries (optional)
Step 2
  • 1 Champagne Yeast

Directions

Step 1

Bring a water to a boil and stir in your honey let boil for 20 min skim off the stop on the top.

Add the rest of the ingredients and let cool.

Step 2
  • yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your mead.

Add in your yeast nutrient.

After 24-48 hours it should start bubbling.

Fermentation Through Bottling Your Rose Pedal Mead Recipe

Make sure your primary has about a gallon of water in it otherwise fill it now.

Just be careful that your carboy is around a third empty leaving space for frothing and foaming.

Put on your air lock and let it ferment.

Rack the mead off the fruit to your secondary carboy after 6-7 days when the frothing has slowed down.

Let age for another 2 months.

Juniper Hibiscus Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. dried juniper berries
  • 1 oz. dried hibiscus flowers or 2 oz. fresh
  • .5 oz. meadowsweet
  • .5 oz. yarrow
  • 1 quart (about 2.3 pounds) wildflower honey
  • 1 gallon spring water
  • 4-5 raisins
Step 2
  • 1 packet (5 g) of Lalvin D-47 or Lalvin 71-B

Directions

Step 1

Bring half a gallon to a boil stir in your honey take off the fire add the rest of the water.

Then puncture every berry and add to your mead then add the rest of the ingredients.

Step 2
  • yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your mead.

Add in your yeast nutrient.

After 24-48 hours it should start bubbling.

Fermentation Through Bottling Your Beet Mead Recipe

Make sure your primary has about a gallon of water in it otherwise fill it now.

Just be careful that your carboy is around a third empty leaving space for frothing and foaming.

Put on your air lock and let it ferment.

Rack the mead off the fruit to your secondary carboy after 6-7 days when the frothing has slowed down.

Let age for a month or two.

Daisy Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Daisy Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 3 Liters or Quarts Daisy Blossoms
  • 3 Liters or Quarts Red Clover Blossoms
  • 6 Liters or Quarts boiling water
  • 1.5 Kg or 3 1/4 lbs honey
  • 500g or 1 lb chopped dates (can use raisins or sultanas)
  • 500g or 1 lb whole wheat kernels
  • 1 Tbsp each dried orange and lemon peel (can use zest and juice of 2 oranges and 2 lemons if available)
  • 6 cardamom pods and
  • 6 cloves (can be omitted or substituted for favorite spices/herbs, cinnamon, mint, vanilla, anise, lavender, etc)
Step 2
  • 1 package of yeast

Directions

Step 1

Pick your daisy’s you can use any edible daisy such as (Ox-Eye Daisy Chrysanthemum leucanthemum, or English Daisy Bellis perennis ). Next the red clovers you want the flowers not stems or leaves of the (Trifolium pratense).

Always be absolutely sure of plant identification before collecting or consuming any wild plant. I use Petersons Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants to aid identification.

Wash blossoms by pouring boiling water over blossoms, and let stand 24 hours this should remove the bugs. Filter out blossoms and add to carboy along with the remaining ingredients (except yeast) .

Step 2
  • yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your mead.

Add in your yeast nutrient.

After 24-48 hours it should start bubbling.

Fermentation Through Bottling Your Daisy Mead Recipe

Make sure your primary has about a gallon of water in it otherwise fill it now.

Just be careful that your carboy is around a third empty leaving space for frothing and foaming.

Put on your air lock and let it ferment.

Rack the mead off the fruit to your secondary carboy after 6-7 days when the frothing has slowed down.

Jalapeno Cucumber Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Ingredients:

Step 1
  • 3 lbs Clover honey
  • 3 Big Jalapenos
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1 gallon of water
Step 2
  • Yeast EC-1118
Step 3 Optional
  • Cucumber
  • Jalapeno

Directions

Step 1

Pour 1/4 to 1/2 gallon of water in a pot and bring to a boil.

Cut and de-vain the jalapenos (to remove the heat) and slice the cucumber in to round slices. When water is at a boil add in cucumbers and jalapeno’s for 30 min.

Strain to carboy and add to your carboy.

Add in the honey.

Once cool add the yeast and take measurements.

Wait 24 hours.

Step 2
  • yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your mead.

Add in your yeast nutrient.

After 24-48 hours it should start bubbling.

Fermentation Through Bottling Your Jalapeno Cucumber Mead Recipe

Make sure your primary has about a gallon of water in it otherwise fill it now.

Just be careful that your carboy is around a third empty leaving space for frothing and foaming.

Sorrel Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Sorrel Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 3 quarts of water water
  • 4.5 oz dried sorrel sepals
  • 2″ of dried china ginger
  • 10 cloves
  • 2 tsp allspice berries
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 1 orange peel from one small orange
  • lemon peel from one lemon
  • 2 tsp mace
Step 2
  • 3 lbs of honey (1 quart) to carboy. 
  • Yeast Nutrient
  • Wyeast 1388 yeast. (SG ~1.120)

Directions

Step 1

Combined all the ingredient together and bring the mixture to boil for 10 minutes.

Take the mixture off the heat. Once it has cooled, place in the fridge over night.

Step 2
  • yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your mead.

Add in your yeast nutrient.

After 24-48 hours it should start bubbling.

Starfruit Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds of wild flower honey
  • 3 cups of star fruit puree
  • 1 gallon of water
Step 2
  • 1 tsp yeast nutrient
  • I pitched Wyeast Sweet

Directions

Cut up and mash then freeze in bags to get the ice crystals to break up the cell walls is the easiest way.

Boil and combined honey and water together for 1/2 hour. Add to primary together with frozen and thawed fruit.

Redcurrant Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of currants
  • 1 pound of raspberries
  • 3 pounds of honey
  • 1 gallon of water
Step 2
  • Yeast nutrient
  • Pectin enzyme
  • Bordeaux yeast

Directions

Step 1

Clean and wash your berries. Remove all bad berries and stems.

Place your berries in a food processor or blender or bang with your hand. Make sure most of the berries’ skins are broken.

Put your berries and into the stainless steel pot pour in the water and start heating and then start stirring in the honey.

Heat your mixture to 145 F. Keep it there for fifteen minutes. Do not let boil! (you can use a camden tablet and skip the whole boiling process)

Pour into your carboy and let cool.

Step 2
  • Yeast nutrient
  • Pectin enzyme
  • Bordeaux yeast

Pawpaw Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Ingredients:

• 4 cups pawpaw pulp
• 1 pound honey
• 1/2 gallon apple cider
• 1/2 gallon water

Step 2

  • 1 package all purpose wine yeast

Directions

Freeze then thaw the pawpaws, smash and combined with the apple cider.

Boil and combined honey and water together for 1/2 hour. Add to primary together with apple cider and pawpaws.

Medlar Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Medlar Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 7 Lbs of Medlars, ripe & bletted
  • 3.5 Lbs of Honey.
  • 1/2 Can white Grape concentrate
  • 1 tsp citric acid or juice of one Lemon
  • 2 tsp pectic enzyme
  • Crushed campden tablets
Step 2
  • Lalvin 71B-1122 Yeast
  • Yeast nutrient

Directions

Step 1

You need the medlars to be bletted or basically what some would call rotten.

Crush the fruit, bring about about 5 liters of water to a boil and add in fruit.

Add in campden tablet/powder.

Let cool pour into carboy and then add in the pectic enzyme, boney and grape concentrate.

Wait 24 hours.

Step 2
  • yeast
  • nutrient

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your beer after the beer has cooled.

Add the yeast at the temperature recommended on the packet .

Orange Spice Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Orange Spice Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 lbs of honey
  • 2 small or 1large orange
  • 1 small box of raisins abt 20 raisins
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • Whole clove
  • optional (a pinch of nutmeg and allspice)
  • 14 cups
Step 2
  • 1 tsp yeast nutrient
  • 1 package all purpose wine yeast

Directions

Step 1

Boil and combined honey and water together for 1/2 hour. Add to primary.

Clean the orange rind or use organic and cube peel and all toss into carboy along with the rest of ingredients.

Wait 24 hours.

Step 2
  • yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your beer after the beer has cooled.

Mango Habanero Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Ingredients:

  • 4 lbs of honey
  • 3 Larg Mangos
  • pectin enzyme
  • 1/4 Small Habanero Chili
Step 2
  • 1 tsp yeast nutrient
  • 1 package all purpose wine yeast
Step 3
  • 1/4 Small Habanero Chilli

Directions

Step 1

Boil and combined honey and water together for 1/2 hour. Add to primary together with enzyme.

Remove from mango peel pit and then chop up. Clean your small chili chop up and add together with enzyme to primary.

Wait 24 hours.

Step 2
  • yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your beer after the beer has cooled.

Add the yeast at the temperature recommended on the packet .

Strawberry Mint Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Ingredients:

Step 1
  • 2.5 pounds of honey
  • 1 gallon of water
  • 3 ounces of raisins
  • 7 ounces of strawberries
Step 2
  • 2 tsp. Nutrient (SNA)
  • 1 tsp. Energizer (SNA)
  • 2 packets Lalvin 71b-1122
Step 3
  • 3 lbs. Fresh Strawberries
  • pectic enzyme
  • campden tablet
  • 1 oz Mint

Directions

Step 1

Bring water to a boil stir in honey then shut off flame and let cool.

Remove the heads of the strawberries clean chop into chunks and add to primary.

Chop the raisins and add to primary.

Pour in cooled honey water.

Step 2
  • yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your mead.

Add the yeast at the temperature recommended on the packet .

After 24-48 hours it should start bubbling.

Fermentation Through Bottling Your Strawberry Mint Mead Recipe

Make sure your primary has about a gallon of water in it otherwise fill it now.

Just be careful that your carboy is around a third empty leaving space for frothing and foaming.

Let it ferment. Rack the mead off the fruit to your secondary carboy after 6-7 days when the frothing has slowed down.

Taste it add in more sugar if its to dry let ferment, and repeat. When you add sugar and there is no fermentation the yeast is dead and you can add sugar to taste.

Secondary Fermentation

Step 3
  • 3 lbs. Fresh Strawberries
  • pectic enzyme
  • campden tablet
  • 1 oz Mint

Remove the head of the strawberries then clean and chop the strawberries add to secondary carboy with pectic enzyme, campden tablet, and mint.

Pour in mead from primary.

Let ferment for 1-2 months or more in the secondary then bottle.

After you wait for the second time you will bottle the mead.

Sterilize and then bottle and cap again siphon slowly so that that sediments don’t get mixed in.

Set aside and let age.

Passionfruit Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Passionfruit Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

Step 1
  • 1 gallon of water
  • 2.7 pounds of honey
Step 2
  • Mangrove Jacks M05 yeast
  • nutrient
Step 3
  • 1 cup of passion fruit pulp
  • 1/2 vanilla seed
  • 1 oz of oak chips

Directions

Step 1

Boil together honey and 1/2gal water for 5 min.

Pour your honey in, if the honey is not coming out of the container put honey jar into a bastion of hot water this will loosen it up then pour in. Stir when the honey has dissolved take off fire.

Let cool in a sink of cold water to room temperature, then add yeast and nutrient.

Step 2
  • yeast
  • yeast nutrient

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast and yeast nutrient into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your mead/

Add the yeast at the temperature recommended on the packet .

After 24-48 hours it should start bubbling.

Fermentation Through Bottling Your Passionfruit Mead Recipe

Make sure your primary has about a gallon of water in it otherwise fill it now.

Just be careful that your carboy is around a third empty leaving space for frothing and foaming.

Put on airlock, and let it ferment. Rack the mead off the fruit to your secondary carboy after 6-7 days when the frothing has slowed down.

Strain out the pedals using a cheesecloth or colander.

When you use a cheesecloth it helps to wet it first.

Secondary Fermentation
Step 3

Add 1 cup of passion fruit pulp together with half a vanilla seed.

After a month in secondary I added about 3 grams of oak chips.

Let ferment after you add the oak chips an additional 4-5 months in the secondary then bottle.

Sterilize and then bottle and cap again siphon slowly so that that sediments don’t get mixed in.

Set aside and let age.

Banana Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Ingredients:

  • 5 pounds of peeled overripe banana
  • 1 tea bag (in boil – optional)
  • 2.5 pounds of honey
  • nutrients
  • pectic enzyme
  • 1 lemon’s worth of juice
  • 1 gallon of water
Step 2
  • 1 pack of wine yeast

Directions

Step 1

Peel all your bananas and chop them up. Place them in a pot on the stove with 2L of water and a teabag. Boil them for 20 mins add in the tea bag for the last 5 min.

When cool strain through cheesecloth into carboy. Then add the honey into this filtered liquid along with your yeast nutrients and petic enzyme.

Step 2

Lime Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Spruce Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Spruce Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon water
  • 2.5 pounds of wildflower honey
  • 1/2 gallon of spruce
  • 2 tables spoons (tea of your choice)

Pour the water into a pot bring to a simmer put in the spruce branches and tea.

Simmer for 5 minutes then let cool strain and add together with honey to the primary carboy.

Acorn Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Acorn Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped acorn meat (one cup once chopped, not before chopping)
  • 1 tspn yeast nutrient
  • 2 pounds of wildflower honey
  • 1 gallon (16 cups) water

(optional 1/5 tspn acid blend, 1/2 tspn pectic enzyme add to primary)

Step 2
  • Sauterne yeast

Directions

Step 1

 Shell and leach tannins from the acorns.

Chop acorns in a blender using some of the water to help.

Boil a 4 cups of water and add the acorns.

(Remember you must have already taken the tannins out of the acorns or your wine will be undrinkable and unsafe.)

Reduce heat until just a simmer, cover, cook for 30 minutes.

Strain the acorn water into the primary.

Stir in honey and yeast nutrient.

(Add in optional)

Step 2
  • yeast

Wait till the mead has cooled.

Jamaica Blue Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Ingredients:

  • 6 lb. Cover Honey
  • 1 lb. Orange Blossom Honey
  • 1.5 lb. Corn Sugar
  • 2 oz. Fresh, minced Ginger Root
  • 1 gal. Fresh Blueberries
  • 2 ea. Lemons, halved
  • 5 gallons of water
Step 2
  • WYeast #1214 Belgian Ale Yeast, 3 tsp. Yeast Extract
Step 3
  • 3 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup Orange Blossom Honey (bottling)

Directions

Step 1

Put honey, corn sugar, and yeast extract in brewpot with water.

If you are having difficulty getting out the honey place the honey container in warm water than pour out into pot with simmering water.

Simmer for 10 minutes, skimming foam with kitchen strainer.

Add ginger root and simmer for 10 more minutes without skimming. Remove from heat, squeeze in lemons, and throw into brew pot.

Cover and let stand for 15 minutes. Strain out lemon halves and ginger, add blueberries,

Put into primary fermenter, and pitch yeast.

Step 2
  • yeast

Wait till the mead has cooled.

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your beer after the beer has cooled.

Add the yeast at the temperature recommended on the packet .

Fermentation Through Bottling Your Jamaica Blue Mead Recipe

Make sure your primary has about a gallon of water in it otherwise fill it now.

Cherry Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Cherry Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 3 pounds honey, (3 pounds is about 1 quart, and will yield a sweeter mead)
  • 3 pounds of cherries
  • Lalvin D47 Yeast, (or other wine making yeast)

Directions

Step 1
  • Crush the cherries remove the parts that will get stuck in your funnel.
Step 2
  • 2-3 pounds honey, (3 pounds is about 1 quart, and will yield a sweeter mead)

Warm the honey in a pot of hot water so it will slide out of container easily.

Pour the honey mixture into carboy and let cool (or use a wort chiller if you have one) stir all together.

Step 3
  • Chop the strawberries and raisins up then add to the carboy.

Place the berries in carboy and crush. bring the water up to the gallon.

Step 4
  • yeast

Wait till the mead has cooled.

Strawberry Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup more or less organic strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 10 organic raisins
  • Champagne yeast, (or other wine making yeast)

Directions

Grab a large stockpot and heat about half a gallon of water ill its to hot to touch.

Step 2
  • 2-3 pounds honey, (3 pounds is about 1 quart, and will yield a sweeter mead)

Add after the flame is off for 15 min stir well.

Pour the honey mixture into carboy and let cool (or use a wort chiller if you have one) stir all together.

Step 3
  • Chop the strawberries and raisins up then add to the carboy.

Blackberry Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Are you looking for an awesome Blackberry Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 lbs of blackberries
  • 3 lbs of wildflower honey
  • 1 or 2 whole allspice seed, cracked
  • 1 or 2 whole cloves, crushed
  • 1/2 of a lemon, chopped
  • 1/2 packet of Lalvin D-47 or other brewing yeast)

Directions

Step 1
  • 1 or 2 whole allspice seed, cracked
  • 1 or 2 whole cloves, crushed
  • 1/2 of a lemon, chopped

Grab a large stockpot and heat just under 1 gallon of water to just about boiling. Throw in the allspice, clove, and lemon while it heats bring to a boil then turn off.

Step 2
  • 3 pounds, Wildflower Honey

Add after the flame is off for 15 min stir well.

After .

Step 3
  • 2-3 lbs of blackberries

Place the berries in carboy and crush.

Pour the honey mixture into carboy and let cool (or use a wort chiller if you have one) stir all together.

Step 4
  • yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes. Don’t start making yeast starter till mead has cooled.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your mead after the mead has cooled.

Bring the water up to a gallon.

Add the yeast at the temperature recommended on the packet .

After 24-48 hours it should start bubbling.

Fermentation Through Bottling Your blackberry Mead Recipe

Put into primary carboy to ferment and aerate.

Make sure your carboy is around a third empty leaving space for frothing and foaming.

Let it ferment. Rack the mead off the fruit to your secondary carboy after 6-7 days when the frothing has slowed down.

Let ferment for 4 more weeks in the secondary then bottle.

After you wait for the second time you will bottle the beer sterilize and then bottle and cap again siphon slowly so that that sediments don’t get mixed in.

Set aside and let age.

You now need a bottle and a label which are cool enough to compliment your hard work. Honestly, if you put it into a cheap bottle, people will make fun of you. BUT, if it looks good, people will rave about it!

Notes on Utensils and Ingredients

  • Glass is always preferable when working with strong alcohol. Avoid plastic as much as possible.
  • Use organic ingredients to avoid pesticide residues.

Rhubarb Mead Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Are you looking for an awesome Rhubarb Mead Recipe? You now have no reason to look any further; you have just found what you have been looking for!

Ingredients:

  • 1 gallon water
  • 3.5 cups wildflower honey (between 2.5 and 3 lbs)
  • 1 tsp yeast nutrient
  • 7 cups chopped fresh rhubarb
  • sweet mead yeast
  • .5 oz priming sugar

Directions

Step 1
  • 1 gallon water
  • 1 tsp yeast nutrient
  • 3.5 cups wildflower honey (between 2.5 and 3 lbs)

Boil the water then add the nutrient and honey wait till the honey dissolves be careful that you don’t burn the honey.

Step 2
  • 7 cups chopped fresh rhubarb

Turn off the fire and add the rhubarb thenlet cool in pot or primary before adding yeast.

Step 3
  • sweet mead yeast

Prepare a 1L yeast starter by stirring the yeast into the water then let mixture stand in cup for 15 minutes.

Make sure it is bubbling and then you will add it to your beer after the beer has cooled.

Fermentation Through Bottling Your Rhubarb Mead Recipe

Put into primary carboy to ferment and aerate.

Rack to secondary after about 1 month bottled when still with priming sugar.

Make sure your carboy is around a third empty leaving space for frothing and foaming.

After you wait for the second time you will bottle the beer sterilize and then bottle and cap again siphon slowly so that that sediments don’t get mixed in.

Step 4
  • 5 oz of priming sugar

Add priming sugar before bottling.
