Ingredients

  • 4 orange
  • 2 small lemons
  • 1 cup pitted prune’s
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 7-8 cinnamon sticks
  • 20 cracked cardamom pods
  • 24 whole almonds
  • 20 whole cloves
  • 4 (25 ounce) bottles california port wine
  • 3 1/4 cups of vodka, 110-proof

Utensils Tips

Here is a list of the simplest utensils that you can use; the ones Mom should already have in the kitchen:)

Utensils:
– cheesecloth
– saucepan
– small funnel
– glass bottles, or storage containers, for bottling and serving, you can either use the glass Jar you used before, or just buy a second one.

Instructions

Peel and pit the orange and lemon’s, cutting the oranges and lemons into eighths.

Combine all fruit and spices in a large pan. Cook for 20-30 minutes into a “fruit soup,” stirring occasionally. While fruit is cooking, pour wine into another large porcelain pan.

Cover and bring to a boil, but do not cook. Pour fruit mixture into wine pan. Cover and bring to a boil again. When mixture begins to boil, pour in the alcohol, cover and bring to a boil again. Turn off heat.

Holding the cover of the pan at rim of pan as a shield, ignite the mixture with a match.

Let the fire burn for half a minute, then replace the cover on pan.

Strain fruit mixture with a cheesecloth.

Once you get to the point where you have strained everything out, you can gently wring the cheesecloth to extract all of the remaining liquid and juice. You can use the fruit for another use.

It helps to moisten the cheesecloth first so the liquid permeates more smoothly.

If you still need to strain your liqueur further due to lack of clarity, you can strain it 1 more time through a coffee strainer.

Best served Chilled and within one month of making.

Congratulations, You Have Completed Making this Awesome Fruit Punch Liqueur Recipe!

You now need a bottle and a label which are cool enough to compliment your hard work. Honestly, if you put it into a cheap bottle, people will make fun of you. BUT, if it looks good, people will rave about it!

Notes on Utensils and Ingredients

  • Glass is always preferable when working with strong alcohol. Avoid plastic as much as possible.
  • Use organic ingredients to avoid pesticide residues.
