Green Tea Infused Rum Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Ingredients

Step 1
  • 1 bag of green tea (or 1–2 tsp of loose green tea)
  • 2 of rum
  • 1/2 tsp lemon or orange zest (optional)
Step 2 Optional
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of sugar

Directions

Place your tea bags or loose tea into your container and pour in your rum. Zest your orange and put the orange zest into your container.

Aging, Straining, And Drinking Your Green Tea Infused Rum Recipe

Let your liqueur age/steep for 5-12 hours in a cool dark place.

Strain the liquid through several layers of cheesecloth.

It helps to moisten the cheesecloth first so the liquid permeates more smoothly.

Once you get to the point of where you have strained everything out, you can gently wring the cheesecloth to extract all of the liquid and juice.

If you still need to you can strain your liqueur one more time through a coffee strainer.

Step 2 Optional

Bring your water to a boil and stir in the sugar. Keep on stirring till all the sugar has dissolved finally when call pour in your sugar water slowly tasting all the while till its sweetened to your taste.

Green Tea Infused Gin Recipe

Ingredients

Step 1
  • 1/4 cup green tea leaves
  • 3 cups of gin
Step 2
  • 1/2 cup pistachios (salted)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water

Directions

Step 1

Steep the tea leaves in the gin for 2 hours.

Straining, Filtering, and Drinking Green Tea Infused Gin

After the steeping time is over. Carefully strain the liquid through several layers of cheesecloth. It helps to moisten the cheesecloth first so the liquid permeates more smoothly.

If you still need to you can strain your gin one more time through a coffee strainer. When you are done straining, you can discard all of the rind, pulp and any spices.

Step 2

Bring the water to a boil stir in the honey when the honey has been dissolved turn off fire add the pistachios and let sit for 2 hours.

Strain as instructed above for gin, add slowly to gin tasting till its sweetened to taste.

Green Tea Liqueur Recipe D.I.Y.

  • 6 tsp. green tea leaves
  • 3 c. vodka

  • 1 cup of water

Instructions

Step 1

Place the tea leaves and vodka into container and close then shake the container to agitate and bring out the tea flavors.

Aging, Straining, filtering, and Drinking Your Green Tea Liqueur

The tea leaves should be steeped in the vodka for only 24 hours longer will cause the vodka to start tasting bitter.

Once you get to the point where you have strained everything out, you can gently wring the cheesecloth to extract all of the remaining liquid and juice.

It helps to moisten the cheesecloth first so the liquid permeates more smoothly.

If you still need to strain your liqueur further due to lack of clarity, you can strain it 1 more time through a coffee strainer.

Step 2

Boil the water in a saucepan add the sugar slowly stirring all the while to prevent the sugar from burning. When all the sugar has dissolved turn off flame and let cool then add to your tea liqueur.

(optional: add fruit coloring now)
