Vanilla Banana Liqueur Recipe D.I.Y.

Hey Guys and Gals!

Ingredients

Step 1
  • 1 medium-sized bananas, peeled
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract or a 2″ length of vanilla bean
  • 1/2 cups vodka
Step 2
  • 1/2 Cup of sugar
  • 1/2 Cup of water

Instructions

Step 1

Boil the water in a saucepan pour in the sugar while stirring the entire time. when all the sugar is dissolved turn off fire let cool pour into the container you plan on using for aging.

Step 2

Mash the bananas you can use the back of a spoon, and add the vanilla and vodka to the container with the cooled syrup. Shake gently.

Aging, Straining, filtering, and Drinking Your Vanilla Banana liqueur

steep for 1 week. Strain and filter.

Get your cheesecloth to filter it helps to moisten the cheesecloth first so the liquid permeates more smoothly.

Once you get to the point where you have strained everything out, you can gently wring the cheesecloth to extract all of the remaining liquid and juice.

If you still need to strain your liqueur further due to lack of clarity, you can strain it 1 more time through a coffee strainer.

Drink now, For a more balanced flavor after you strained your liqueur, it sit for another 2-3 months.
