Split vanilla beans first lengthwise, then in 1\/2 inch pieces. Put in a bottle, add brandy and sugar, and shake until the sugar has dissolved. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aging, Straining, filtering, and Drinking Your Vanilla Brandy Liqueur<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Leave the mixture about 1 month so that the vanilla flavor has time to develop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After one month you can strain and remove the vanilla particles from the liqueur. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use a cheesecloth to filter, once you get to the point where you have strained everything out, you can gently wring the cheesecloth to extract all of the remaining liquid and juice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It helps to moisten the cheesecloth first so the liquid permeates more smoothly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you still need to strain your liqueur further due to lack of clarity, you can strain it 1 more time through a coffee strainer<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
